History and Evolution of the Monegasque Consular Network in Canada

Over the years, the Principality of Monaco and Canada have forged a strong relationship. Today, this relation is notably materialized by a Consular network, representing the Principality in the country.
Here are the mains stages of the network’s development:

  • December 9, 1926: Inauguration of the first Honorary Consulate in Montreal and nomination of Mr. Marcel Pasquin as Honorary Consul of the Principality of Monaco in Montreal.

  • April 19, 1962: nomination of Mr. Michel Pasquin as Honorary Consul General of the Principality of Monaco in Montreal.

  • November 1965: creation of the Honorary Consulate in Vancouver. Nomation of Mr. Fritz Siegler as Honorary Consul of the Principality of Monaco in Vancouver.

  • 1978: The Honorary Consulate in Vancouver is responsible for British Columbia and Alberta. Elevation of Mr. Fritz Siegler as Honorary Consul General of the Principality of Monaco in Vancouver.

  • March 1, 2002: nomination of Me Jean-Claude Blachand as Honorary Consul General of the Principality of Monaco in Montreal.
  • March 1, 2002: nomination of Mr. Bernard Lette as Honorary Consul of the Principality of Monaco in Toronto.
  • July 22, 2002: nomination of Mr.. Michel Brunet as Honorary Vice-Consul of the Principality of Monaco in Montreal.
  • April 15, 2004: nomination of Mr.. Pierre Doise as Honorary Consul General of the Principality of Monaco in Vancouver.
  • November 27, 2008: nomination of Mr. Jacques Becker as Honorary Consul of the Principality of Monaco in Vancouver.
  • March 30, 2010: nomination of Mr. Bernard Lette as Honorary Consul General of the Principality of Monaco in Toronto.
